Read the complete childrens Verse & Devotional VerseThe wise in heart are called discerning, and gracious words promote instruction.
DevotionalThe bible says "The hearts of the wise make their mouths prudent, and their lips promote instruction." As followers of Jesus we need to watch what we speak with our mouths and think before we talk. Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
Today's Prayer for Children
Father in heaven, show me how to refrain from speaking when I should be listening. Show me how to speak graciously when I talk so I may bring goodness and healing to people around me. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

DevotionalThe book of Proverbs says that if we believe the Word of God, learn His Word, apply your heart to understanding and seek it as if seeking treasure then "you will understand what is right and just and fair-every good path. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you." (Proverbs 2)

Read the complete childrens Verse & Devotional Verse"As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend."
DevotionalThe friends you chose are very important. Just like one piece of iron can make the other piece of iron extremely sharp by rubbing up against it - two Christian friends can also have the same type of positive effect on one another.
If you need a friend simply ask God to give you one. The bible says "ask and you shall receive". If you already have a Christian friend then thank God for them and let them know they are important to you.

Read the complete childrens Verse & Devotional VerseEven a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent, and discerning if he holds his tongue.
DevotionalA wise person will be of few words, being afraid of speaking something inaccurate. A person that has knowledge, and aims to do good with it, is careful. When he does speak, he speaks to the purpose and takes time to think about what he is saying before it is said. A wise person spares his words, because his words are better not spoken than spoken foolishly.

Read the complete childrens Verse & Devotional Verse"Dishonest money dwindles away, but he who gathers money little by little makes it grow."
DevotionalGod tells that if we want to build something that lasts then we need to build brick by brick. Yes, building something that lasts requires lots of hard work, perseverance and patience. Without Godly principles it is "Easy come, easy go and it won't last". Steady diligence, even through the hardest times, pays off.

DevotionalHave you ever felt like you just do not know what to do? Of course you have, it is human nature. Well the good news is, when we trust and acknowledge God, He will direct your way. Plain and simple. We can not trust what we see or hear in the world. However, when we trust God not only does it free us from worry but He will give you guidance and direct your every step in all you do. What a great promise God has made us in this verse!

Read the complete childrens Verse & Devotional VerseMy son, if your heart is wise, then my heart will be glad; my inmost being will rejoice when your lips speak what is right.
DevotionalJesus says from His own mouth, "For whatever is in your heart determines what you say.". If you use perverted talk, bad jokes, or course talk this could be an indication that you need to check your heart. Your tongue has the power of life and death so we need to watch every word we say. Ask God to help you use your tongue to build people up and spread life.

Read the complete childrens Verse & Devotional VerseA sluggard's appetite is never filled, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied.
DevotionalGod rewards those that are faithful all the way to the end. The Lord tells us to give our best effort in whatever job He has given us to do, whether that be school, work, or something else. That does not mean we can't take a break once in a while but while you have a task to do, do it diligently until your work is done. In this way your desires will be fully satisfied. Do you have homework or some other tasks to do? Make sure you do them diligently.

Read the complete childrens Verse & Devotional VerseWithout counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed.
DevotionalYou should make a plan before you do important things. It is important to get advice from several people you trust before you make your plan though. Weigh the advice you get and make your plan accordingly. Only then set your plan in action, knowing the Lord goes before you to make your path straight.

Read the complete childrens Verse & Devotional VerseHatred stirs up strife, But love covers all sins.
DevotionalThe dictionary defines "hatred" as: the emotion of intense dislike; a feeling of dislike so strong that it demands action.
It defines "strife" as: 1. Heated, often violent dissension; bitter conflict 2. A struggle, fight, or quarrel. 3. Contention or competition between rivals.
When people allow hatred to settle into their hearts, whether caused by a wrong done to them or a loved one, some kind of pain caused them or one they love, or any other reason, (covetousness, jealousy, etc.) sooner or later, those feelings will "bubble up" inside of them and be released as strife.
Love squashes strife. If you life is full of strife maybe you need to forgive some people. In your heart, ask Jesus to show you how to love the people you hate.

DevotionalOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever, Amen.
