"Now then," said Joshua, "throw away the foreign gods that are among you and yield your hearts to the LORD, the God of Israel."

There can be no mixing of idol worship for a heart that is yielded to God. There are many foreign Gods in today's world. Daily we are faced with gods of pleasure, immediate gratification, and many others. Sometimes an idol can be as simple as giving into things excessively (like online gaming or pleasurable things such as food or sports). We must guard our hearts from our fleshly desire, practice moderation and run from temptation.

But be very careful to keep the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the LORD gave you: to love the LORD your God, to walk in obedience to him, to keep his commands, to hold fast to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
