A daily bible verse for children with a Christian devotional.
Today's Bible Verse for Children
If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and, though they discipline him, will not listen to them, then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of his city at the gate of the place where he lives, and they shall say to the elders of his city, ‘This our son is stubborn and rebellious; he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton and a drunkard.’ Then all the men of the city shall stone him to death with stones. So you shall purge the evil from your midst, and all Israel shall hear, and fear.
Today's Devotional for Children
Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him. Proverbs 13:24
Obedience to God and to our parents can either bring blessings on our life or curses. The Holy Bible is very clear on this and the choice is clearly ours.
Heavenly Father bless me to be a good, loving and obedient child of God. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Verse Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this, to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
Devotional Consider this, what if each one of us practiced kindness, love and acceptance of every person who is around us wherever we are and whomever we are with? Let's try to be our own little nation of love, hope and acceptance. Let's start a trickle affect of change. Let's be our own nation that our Heavenly Father would be incredibly proud of!
Heavenly Father give me a pure heart full of love for others regardless of what they look like or how they act or what they do. Show me their hurts and how with Your help I can help them heal. In Jesus precious name I pray, Amen.
Please help us change the lives of these children by helping to sponsor them. No donation is too small.

Verse You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe, and tremble!
Devotional Satan was an angel created by God just like all the angels were. His name was Lucifer, God made him perfect, but Lucifer wanted more power. He wanted to be worshiped like God. Not even the angels of Heaven can have the power of God, so God removed Lucifer from His presence by kicking him out of Heaven. There is only one true God, our God who created Jesus Christ.
Verse If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.
Devotional Need help figuring out what to do? Remember this:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take.
Verse So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.
Devotional Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:7-9).
Verse For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed.
Devotional We should never be jealous because God give us each our own special gifts, traits and nature. Being jealous and doing this out of selfishness will bring confusion and all kinds of bad stuff into your life.
Verse My brothers and sisters, what good is it if people say they have faith but do nothing to show it? Claiming to have faith can’t save anyone, can it?
Devotional Imagine someone who has no warm clothes and never has enough food to eat. What if you said, "Go in peace! Stay warm! Have a nice meal!"? What good is it if you don't actually give them what their body needs? In the same way, faith is dead when it doesn't result in faithful activity.
Verse If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
Devotional But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do. (James 1:6-8)
Verse When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
Devotional Asking for things because of lust, envy and pride are not answered by God. We should be thankful that they are not. If the Lord answered all prayers like that we would eventually destroy ourselves. John warns against the love of the world. We can't love the world and the Father at the same time.
Verse Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this; to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world. NKJV
Devotional The most spotless kind of religious faith can be measured by our compassionate love towards orphans and widows and those who can give us nothing in return. It is important that we keep our eyes and heart in God's world, not in the physical world as we see it and know it, to keep ourselves open and ready to serve the suffering and need of others.
Jesus make me an instrument of your peace and love. In your name I pray, Amen.
Verse Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
Devotional God does not change like the shadows from the sun going across the sky as the sun rises and sets. His Love is constant and un-shifting. His perfect gift to us is Jesus who is life for all that believe. God I thank you for your perfect and unchanging gift. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
Verse If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn't do it, it is sin for them.
Devotional If we are not doing what we know God wants us to do or refuse to obey God, we are sinning. Obedience is not always easy. Sometimes it means we must study instead of playing, do chores instead of playing video games, or work instead of Facebooking. Is there something in your life that you should be doing but are not?
Father in heaven, poke our spirit when we are not doing what we should. Help us to stay in tune with your will. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
Verse Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.
Devotional Because we are human we are by nature "self focused". It is difficult to see beyond our own sphere we live in. Sometimes the best thing you can do to help somebody is to simply listen. When somebody does something to anger you try to understand where they are coming from. This will help you resolve anger you may hold towards them. These are sacrifices that please God.
Verse The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.
Devotional Prayer changes the person praying and whatever or whoever is being prayed for. Jesus prayed often to the Father and set the example we are commanded to follow. Make praying a habit. Have you prayed today?
Verse And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature, and it is set on fire by hell. NKJV
Devotional Like fire, the hateful, unkind and selfish words we speak can destroy the good things around us rapidly or like smoke that accompanies fire, our words can infiltrate and ruin everything around us. The evil things we speak with our tongue can go beyond us individually and affect everything in our our world. It is very important that we learn to control the words that come off of our tongue as they can open the door to Gods blessings or open the door to demonic oppression.
Verse My brothers and sisters, you will have many kinds of troubles. But when these things happen, you should be very happy. Why? Because you know that these things are testing your faith. And this will give you patience.
Devotional Be happy when nothing is going right? If we believe what the bible says then we know we will be rewarded with patience. God want us to trust Him!
