Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
Devotional
God does not change like the shadows from the sun going across the sky as the sun rises and sets. His Love is constant and un-shifting. His perfect gift to us is Jesus who is life for all that believe. God I thank you for your perfect and unchanging gift. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

If we are not doing what we know God wants us to do or refuse to obey God, we are sinning. Obedience is not always easy. Sometimes it means we must study instead of playing, do chores instead of playing video games, or work instead of Facebooking. Is there something in your life that you should be doing but are not? Father in heaven, poke our spirit when we are not doing what we should. Help us to stay in tune with your will. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Because we are human we are by nature "self focused". It is difficult to see beyond our own sphere we live in. Sometimes the best thing you can do to help somebody is to simply listen. When somebody does something to anger you try to understand where they are coming from. This will help you resolve anger you may hold towards them. These are sacrifices that please God.

Like fire, the hateful, unkind and selfish words we speak can destroy the good things around us rapidly or like smoke that accompanies fire, our words can infiltrate and ruin everything around us. The evil things we speak with our tongue can go beyond us individually and affect everything in our our world. It is very important that we learn to control the words that come off of our tongue as they can open the door to Gods blessings or open the door to demonic oppression.
