A daily bible verse for children with a Christian devotional.
Today's Bible Verse for Children
If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and, though they discipline him, will not listen to them, then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of his city at the gate of the place where he lives, and they shall say to the elders of his city, ‘This our son is stubborn and rebellious; he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton and a drunkard.’ Then all the men of the city shall stone him to death with stones. So you shall purge the evil from your midst, and all Israel shall hear, and fear.
Today's Devotional for Children
Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him. Proverbs 13:24
Obedience to God and to our parents can either bring blessings on our life or curses. The Holy Bible is very clear on this and the choice is clearly ours.
Heavenly Father bless me to be a good, loving and obedient child of God. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Verse The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn.
Devotional God has created specific tasks for each of us who work under His name and who are in His family. He is our light in this world and we are to share His light and the hope that comes with our belief in Him to the poor, brokenhearted and mourning.
Heavenly Father let me be a light to others so that they can see Your glory. In Jesus precious name I pray, Amen.
Verse No longer will you need the sun to shine by day, nor the moon to give its light by night, for the Lord your God will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. NLT
Devotional Did you know that God is growing the flowers as we speak, clothing them in his sunshine. He is the one who clothes us. Just as he sings over the birds and they sing back to him so it is with his children.
Imagine yourself standing in a field of wildflowers with the sun shining and birds singing. Imagine yourself standing with Jesus in the kingdom of the heavens and all eyes are on him. When Jesus comes back, he will be our sunshine and God will be what makes the sunshine feel so wonderful on us.
Close your eyes, can you feel the sunshine?
Verse Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock. NLT
Devotional Because God is the Rock eternal! A rock does not change - if the Lord promised something, He is going to keep His promise; His character of Love and Justice is unchanging and can be utterly counted on, in all situations. Trust that He has your best interest and wants only what is right and good for you in all things.
The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. Psalm 18
Verse He gives strength to the weary, And to him who lacks might He increases power.
Devotional Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
Verse I, I am the Lord, and there is no savior besides me.
I announced, I saved, I proclaimed,
not some stranger among you.
You are my witnesses, says the Lord,
and I am God.
Devotional You are my witnesses, says the Lord,
my servant, whom I chose,
so that you would know and believe me
and understand that I am the one.
Before me no god was formed;
after me there has been no other.
Verse The Lord will guide you always;
he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like a spring whose waters never fail.
Devotional God says if we don't point blame on others for what we do, don't speak wicked things, feed the hungry and help carry the burden of others then your gloomy darkness will become as bright as the midday.
Verse But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to our own way;
and the Lord has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.
Devotional We should strive to live free of doing sinful things. But we are human and we all fall short of perfection. The good news is, Jesus took our sins from us when he died on the cross. Jesus took our sins so we could be forgiven and have peace with God. Sometimes we simply need to forgive our selves and claim the great gift of healing God has already given us through His son Jesus.
Verse Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; You shall cry, and He will say, 'Here I am.' If you take away the yoke from your midst, the pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness, If you extend your soul to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted soul, then your light shall dawn in the darkness, and your darkness shall be as the noonday.NKJV
Devotional God teaches us specifically in this chapter of Isaiah everything we need to be doing in order to have His blessing on our lives. His blessing will prosper and make every area of our lives good and happy if we just follow what He tells us. There are many churches and ministers that misrepresent what God's word is saying about how we should follow Him. The best way to follow God is to read the Bible and pray for the Holy Spirit to reveal its truth to us.
Father teach me Your Word and reveal it's meaning to me so that Your blessing will be on my life. In Jesus precious name I pray, Amen.
Verse I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, My soul shall be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. NKJV
Devotional When we become born again and realize that we can not achieve our own righteousness by the things that we do and we ask for forgiveness and call on the mercy of God, the Lord will cover us with His own divine righteousness by grace that comes through our faith in Him.
Father thank you for Your divine covering of grace. In Jesus name, Amen.
Verse Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, "This is the way, walk in it." NIV
Devotional God has written the truth in our heart, whether we have accepted him as real or deny him as real, we know in our heart what is right or wrong. When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, God send's us the Holy Spirit who will guide us and gives us the answers to our problems and questions, as well as the direction He wants us to go in. The key is to spend enough time with God so that we understand the sound of His voice. His voice can come to us in many ways including in dreams and visions.
Heavenly Father, give me the ears,eyes and mind to understand everything you are telling me and showing me. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Verse A generous man devises generous things and by generosity he shall stand.
Devotional Sometimes sharing is as simple as just listening to a friend that has problems. By doing this you share their burden. Other times sharing is much more difficult, especially when we feel like others do not deserve it. For this you will be most blessed.
Father in heaven, show me the area's in my life that I need to be generous. In Jesus precious name I pray, Amen.
Verse Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
Devotional God does not want us to dwell on the past because he is making us new. He make us new and gives us everything we need so we will praise Him:
"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen, the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise."
Verse The wolf will live with the lamb,
the leopard will lie down with the goat,
the calf and the lion and the yearling together;
and a little child will lead them.
Devotional The animals on the ark with Noah were not trying to attack or eat each other as they did in the wild because God changed their nature. Again when Jesus comes back He will change nature. The Word of God will make those that trampled on the meek of the earth, not only meek like them, but affectionate towards them just like the lamb and the wolf.
