A daily bible verse for children with a Christian devotional.
Today's Bible Verse for Children
Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
Today's Devotional for Children
Sometimes when we are raised in a family were our Fathers and Mothers are divorced we are taught to be loyal to one parent over the other. We are taught that lying is okay in order to get material things that we want, not caring that maybe the parent we are lying to loves us so much that they put you as first and foremost even before their own essential needs are met.
This is never okay or right, no matter what the parent we are most involved with says. We as Gods children are to never participate in lying or cheating anyone in order to get everything we want, let alone to do that to one of our parents whom God has commanded us to honor. If we do not follow Gods commandment on this, He will not bless us in other areas of our lives. God also tells us in the Holy Bible that all liars will burn in the bowl of fire if we do not repent and change our ways.
Heavenly Father help me to be a good, honest and loving child of God no matter what the circumstances. Please forgive me for any wrongdoing I may have participated in towards my Father or Mother in order to be loyal. In Jesus precious name I pray, Amen.
Verse And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.
Devotional Don't let others discourage you because you love Jesus. As today's Bible verse describes, we will be rewarded for believing and trusting in Him. God says whoever suffers for doing what is right, that the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to them!
Verse During the days of Jesus life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission.
Devotional Jesus learned obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him. Thank you Father in heaven for sending your only son to save us. Amen!
Verse Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
Devotional The faith of Jesus' disciples was not always perfect. Their trust was not always mature. However, they kept at it; they believed and acted with a relentless assurance that somehow, some way, God would act and deliver.
Verse The Lord disciplines everyone he loves; he punishes everyone he accepts as a child.
Devotional God disciplines us to help us so that we can be holy like him. We don't enjoy discipline when we get it. It is painful. But later, after we have learned our lesson from it, we will enjoy the peace that comes from doing what is right.
Verse Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
Devotional Jesus told us that the world will know we are Christians by our love for one another. It is sometimes easy to look at a person you don't know and judge them by appearance but God warns us against that. Indeed the one you are judging just may be an angel of God.
Verse In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.
Devotional If the words of Jesus are powerful enough to create billions and billions of stars and planets then certainly he is able to guide us through life here on earth no matter how difficult it may seem to be at times. He promised that if we seek Him he will reveal himself to us.
Verse By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is in keeping with faith.
Devotional We have to keep going even when things seem impossible so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised. God promises eternal life for those who have faith.
Verse He has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you.
Devotional Jesus understands how it feels to be hurt, betrayed, abandoned and hated. He was a human just like you. When you feel these emotions remember Jesus promised He would NEVER leave you or forsake you.
Verse Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.
Devotional God helps those who help others. When we share there always seems to be enough. The bible says we are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, this way we store up treasure in heaven that will last forever.
Verse For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are-yet he did not sin.
Devotional Temptation is unavoidable, Jesus was tempted in "every" way So Jesus is able to understand how hard it can be. We need to be like Jesus and respond with Scripture when faced with temptation. Knowing what God says in the bible will help you be like Jesus and overcome temptation. This shows us the importance of consistently learning the bible.
Verse By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.
Devotional Sometimes God may prompt your heart to do something that may seem impossible or very difficult to do. He may ask you to do something that requires extreme faith and obedience. We as Christians need to have faith and act in obedience regardless of if we know all the details. God gives us all we need to do His will.
Verse Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."
Devotional LORD, thank You for providing for me and protecting me. I trust that You are always there for my family, I very much appreciate it. All I need is You Jesus! Thank You for providing such a blessed day. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Verse For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.
Devotional LORD, You are very very real. There are over 6.5 billion people on earth, How many of those people are not saved? LORD, I pray that all those people before they die to find Jesus, and for them to ask You into their hearts. Every moment a soul is going to hell. The reality is, our time on earth is not the same as the time that is in Heaven, which is eternity. For us an hour seems so long. In Your eyes God, our lives are like a split second. Poof, just like a puff of smoke. I thank You LORD for saving me. Amen
