A daily bible verse for children with a Christian devotional.
Today's Bible Verse for Children
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward.Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of oneís youth.Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them. They shall not be ashamed, but shall speak with their enemies in the gate.
Today's Devotional for Children
It is hard to understand divorce and sometimes it is hard to understand why our Momís and Dadís do the things they do that hurt us and make us feel like we shouldnít love each of them equally. God says in His Word that you are a heritage from God, a reward to both of your parents from Him. You were His first, before theirs. You should always be allowed to love both of your parents, as they love you.
Jesus, I donít know why (Mommy or Daddy) left. Despite all the changes in my life, I miss them. Remind me that I am Your beloved child, with whom You are well pleased. You, O God, will never abandon me.
Heal me in body, mind, and spirit when I feel that my parents have abandoned me. Lead me to others who will nurture and guide me as my parents should and let me, also, share the love of both of my parents with others, in your precious name I pray. Amen.
So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
Childrens devotional for Matthew 7: 12
When we treat others with kindness and respect we have a positive impact on people's lives. The apostle Paul in the bible says "kindness refreshes the hearts of Gods people". Even when confronting others over a tough issue we should not be rude or derogatory.
Verse Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
Devotional You have heard that it was said, "You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy." But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
Verse Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
Devotional DO NOT WORRY!
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
Verse God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God.
Devotional When we are peacemakers, we are doing the very exact activity that God does. Peace is the state in which God created all things to exist and flourish.
Those that long for this kind of peace and seek to make it happen are called the children of God. We should embrace it with open arms in each and every person we are involved with and situation we find ourselves in. Seek peace!
Verse Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Devotional Jesus prayed this prayer: "O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding the truth from those who think themselves so wise, and for revealing it to little children." He was explaining that He calls everyone but some don't listen and turn to God. Jesus also said "Blessed are those who don't doubt me."
Verse Be careful that you donít practice your religion in front of people to draw their attention. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.
Devotional But when you give to charity, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, So that your deeds of charity may be in secret; and your Father Who sees in secret will reward you openly.
Verse As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector's booth."Follow me," he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him.
While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew's house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?".
On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."
Devotional Jesus came from heaven to earth because he loves you! He came to save the sinners, He is our great doctor who desires to heal us.
Verse For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Devotional Occasionally, it is easy to forgive someone if they are cute or you like them. Other times it may be more difficult especially if you can see nothing good about that person. But remember, God does not make a distinction about if you like the person who has done you wrong or not, he says only that we should forgive them. Unforgiveness in your life will hold you back in areas we may not even think of. Ask the Lord to reveal to you if there are people you need to forgive. You may be surprised at what He reveals :)
Verse Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
Devotional You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Verse But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise." And they remembered his words, and returning from the tomb they told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. Now it was Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James and the other women with them who told these things to the apostles, but these words seemed to them an idle tale, and they did not believe them. But Peter rose and ran to the tomb; stooping and looking in, he saw the linen cloths by themselves; and he went home marveling at what had happened.
Devotional The Easter season is about Jesus. He is Risen!
Verse But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken.
Devotional What we say is very important. With our words we can help or hurt people, including our selves. God says our words can bring life or death and we will be responsible for words which are empty. Father in heaven, help our words be full of wisdom and life and not empty, mean or foolish. Amen!
Verse Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Devotional To be meek is to be gentle to others, humble in spirit and enduring injury from others with patience. Meekness is the opposite of pride, stubbornness, fierceness and vengefulness. God promises to teach the meek His ways and he tells us we will inherit the earth.
Verse Beware that you do not despise or feel scornful toward or think little of one of these little ones, for I tell you that in heaven their angels always are in the presence of and look upon the face of My Father Who is in heaven. AMP
Devotional We are not to despise, spurn or belittle another Christian by treating him or her unkindly or indifferently. Christians are served by angels in general. These angels are pictured always watching the face of God so as to hear His command to them to help a Christian when needed. It is extremely serious to treat any fellow believer with contempt and unkindness since God and the holy angels are so concerned for their well-being.
Father give me Your heart for the lost and misled. In Jesus name I pray, Amen
Verse Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea. NKJV
Devotional Jesus loves little children and He and God our Father will avenge and punish anyone who harms them or leads them along a path of evil, lies or destruction. If you know a friend who needs help, tell them who Jesus is and hug them, tell them you love them. Some kids don't have anyone who really loves them, be their friend.
Jesus help me to love just like you do. In Your name I pray, Amen.
Verse For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Devotional Jesus is telling us that we need to forgive others all the wrongs that they do to us, even when it is very hard and even when they continue to be hateful towards us, we need to forgive them in our hearts and stay away from them so that we don't continue to have a problem forgiving them. The reason it is so important to forgive others is so God will forgive us everything that we have done wrong. If we do not receive Gods forgiveness it will keep us from going to heaven and it can put a huge curse on us and our family. It can cause us to be sick and unhappy in many different ways.
Jesus help me to forgive, forgive me for my unforgiveness and help me to see what a blessing forgiveness really is in my life no matter how hard it is! In Your name I pray, Amen.
Verse You have heard that our fathers were told, ĎLove your neighboró and hate your enemy. But I tell you, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! Then you will become children of your Father in heaven. For he makes his sun shine on good and bad people alike, and he sends rain to the righteous and the unrighteous alike. Complete Jewish Bible
Devotional Jesus is telling us that we need to love our enemies and pray for those who are mean to us and make our lives difficult. By doing these things, we will become God's children.
God, I want to be one of your children. Give me the courage to do everything you say in the bible even if it is hard to do. Help me to share who you are with everyone. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Verse But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. NIV
Devotional God wants us to be very close to Him and He wants to be number one in our lives. He say's in this scripture that if we seek Him and all his ways and place Him as the most important thing in our lives that He will bless us in everything that we need and do. God help me to seek you first in all things and learn what is right according to what You tell us in the bible. In Jesus precious name I pray, Amen.
Verse Then the governorís soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole company of soldiers around him. They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on his head. They put a staff in his right hand. Then they knelt in front of him and mocked him. "Hail, king of the Jews!" they said. They spit on him, and took the staff and struck him on the head again and again. After they had mocked him, they took off the robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him away to crucify him.
Devotional Jesus is the reason for the Easter season. Before he died on the cross for our sins and rose from the dead he was horribly beaten and made fun of. When we go through hard times we need to keep in perspective what Jesus went through for us. Thank you Jesus for dying on the cross for me.
Verse If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.
Devotional Early in the morning, as Jesus was on his way back to the city, he was hungry. Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, "May you never bear fruit again!" Immediately the tree withered.
When the disciples saw this, they were amazed. "How did the fig tree wither so quickly?" they asked.
Jesus replied, "Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done..."
Verse As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil.
Devotional Thank you Jesus for giving your life for me so I will be found righteous in the end. Make me shine like the sun in the kingdom of our Father.
Verse God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God.
Devotional To have a pure heart we must live by the rule of God. With a pure heart we will live a life that is pleasing to God. When we live for the purpose of God, having a single-minded devotion to Him, he will bless us now and eternally and we shall see God.
Verse While he [Jesus] was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!".
Devotional When this happened the apostles fell to the ground and were very scared. Jesus told the apostles to "Get up" and "Do no be afraid". God speaks to all of us in many ways, sometimes it can even be a little scarey. But don't be afraid, simply get up and listen.
Verse So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
Devotional When we treat others with kindness and respect we have a positive impact on people's lives. The apostle Paul in the bible says "kindness refreshes the hearts of Gods people". Even when confronting others over a tough issue we should not be rude or derogatory.
Devotional Jesus says you cannot serve God and man, or you will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other.
What do we place first in our lives? Where is our heart? If our chief concern is with the things of the world - material things alone - then the worldly things becomes our master.
Verse "Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, 'Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?' Jesus answered, 'I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.'"
Devotional We need to forgive people when they hurt our feelings. That is what Jesus wants us to do!
Verse Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
Devotional Todays Prayer
Father help us to be your voice at school and when I play. Let me be your shining light for all the other kids I see during the day. Thank you for the authority you have given me because Jesus died for me and my friends. Amen
Verse And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you pray, go into your room and when you have shut the door, pray to you Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
Devotional I will do my best to obey You LORD, help me to follow Your commandments and do Your will. I want to be rewarded openly, by You God. Thank You for guiding me in the right path. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Verse Not everyone who says to Me, "Lord, Lord," shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
Devotional LORD, help me to do Your will. Help my friends and family that don't know Jesus to find You. Bless this day. I pray that my relationship with You LORD gets stronger every day. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Verse Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
Devotional LORD I want to choose the right path that does NOT lead to destruction, guide me. I pray that I will not be deceived by anyone, so LORD, keep my eyes peeled for lies and false teachings. Thank You. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Verse But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
Devotional LORD, let me speak to You with my spirit not just with my fleshly mind. Help me to have a true relationship with Jesus Christ. Why say I am a Christian, yet go and do worldly things, when You are there wanting to be in my heart? Then I turn around when my time is up on earth asking to be in Your home. That is not right! I (as a regular person living on earth) would not let someone in my home if I did not know them and have some relationship with them. Neither would You God...So LORD please help me to stay on the right path with You. We do not know when our time on earth is going to expire, we need to be ready at every breath given moment as if there is no tomorrow. We (as Christians) need to memorize scripture to use AGAINST the devil because he is real and so are the devils demons. Help me to do all of these things LORD. Amen
Verse Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is life not more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
Devotional Jesus, I know You will take care of my family. You always come through for us. Thank You. Thank You for the food we get to eat and the clothes we have to keep us warm. We may not be rich here on earth, but we are not poor. No material items matter on this earth anyway. We have You! All of our riches are in heaven with You, waiting for us! Amen.
Verse Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen
Devotional I pray LORD that you will help me to remember the 'Lords Prayer' not just by its words, but to understand it with my whole spirit. Thank you for every breath that I breathe for it is by You that we should live. Amen
